Muscle relaxant Flexeril

Flexeril is a muscle relaxant very useful in the treatment of muscle spasms. We now carry the generic equivalent to Flexeril, which is cyclobenzaprine.

Flexeril is a common drug for patients suffering from frequent, recurrent back spasms. Neurologists and rheumatologists – doctors that every day treat chronic back pain patients – often prescribe this drug since it can satisfy the need to treat back pain with medications totally different than pain pills. Up to this date, the way Flexeril works is not completely known, but it is known that the chemical structure of the drug is almost identical to the structure of common antidepressants known to doctors as tricyclics.

Cyclobenzaprine, is a muscle relaxant, used together with rest, physical therapy, and other measures to relax muscles and relieve pain and discomfort caused by muscle injuries like strains and sprains. This medication can be sometimes prescribed for other uses; for more information ask your doctor or pharmacist.

How does it work?
Cyclobenzaprine works on nerves in the spinal cord to dull nerve impulses or signals to the muscles. Dulling these nerve impulses will help relieve muscle spasms.
